FOR YOUR SAILS

We  repair damage to most any part of a sail including to the fabric, hardware, luff/leech/foot, or UV cover.  We can replace, reinforce, or restich damaged areas depending on what is needed.  Our repairs are high quality and will last.  Machine sewing is done on our professional industrial long-arm sewing machine, which can handle thick material, large needles, and the heaviest weight of thread used for sailmaking.  We also hand-stich where appropriate.

I have a Catalina 27 and the UV cover on my jib sail is coming un-stiched and is fraying.  I’m not sure what caused the stiching to come undone, there was a small area that turned into a large area while we were out sailing.  The un-stiching is about 10 ft long and along the very edge of the sail.  The canvas color is pacific blue, and a picture of the damaged area is attached.

Customer Recommendations

We lived in the Nashville area for years enjoying our 1988 Catalina 27 sailboat on a local lake. Just like anything on a sailboat, canvas items and sails occasionally need to be repaired and replaced. All of our canvas items were showing age and needed to be repaired or replaced. It didn’t take us long to be informed by other sailors that Sailors Moving Sailors, a sailboat transporting company with an excellent reputation, also offers custom canvas and sail repair services. They have over time replace our numerous worn out canvas items including – bimini, cabin cover, binnacle cover, and sail cover. They also repaired and restitched my sails on several occasions. Most recently they transported my boat to Southport, N.C. Sailors Moving Sailors are terrific people and I wholeheartedly recommend using their canvas and transport services. -Jerry R

We decided up update our Catalina 22 with completely new cushions. We looked into buying them from Catalina, but found they were quite expensive and very limited on color choices. Looking further, we found Melanie with Sailors Moving Sailors and discovered she could offer a reasonable price for the same cushions and use any fabric we chose. She made a full set of interior cushions and cockpit cushions - new foam and all. We chose a multi-colored striped fabric for her to work with. The end result was exactly what we wanted - a unique and bright interior. All the stripes matched up where they should, and the cushions fit just right. I highly recommend Melanie’s services."

I would highly recommend Melanie for any canvas or sail repair projects.  Melanie has skillfully and affordably accomplished multiple custom items for me over the years - sail repairs, custom hatch covers, life line covers, cushions, sheet bags, winch covers....and more. You can trust Melanie to do the job right."

I brought two main sails to Melanie that needed some rips reparied and hardware replaced.  She did an excellent job in fixing everything, and even identified some damage that I wasn't aware of and fixed that, too.  She's very professional and has very reasonable pricing.  I would trust her with my sails again anytime.

-Kevin

I asked Melanie to create a custom cabin cover for my Catalina 22.  She did a fantastic job.  The cover looks great and is made to last.

-Calvin

I ordered a custom bimini from Melanie for my pontoon boat.  I was extremely pleased with the quality and the price of what I received.  Also, the color she selected was a perfect match with my new upholstery.  Great work.
